Bio
Rebecca Germany is a soprano who is a native of Arlington, Texas. She recently made her debut with Opera Arlington as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka. She was also recently Mother in Amahl in the Night Visitors with the Fort Worth Opera. She received an Encouragement award from the Los Angeles district of the Laffont competition. She was a Semi-Finalist in the Dallas Opera Guild Biennial Lone Star Vocal Competition.
She has been seen with the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia (ISOFOM) as 1st lady in Die Zauberflöte. She was seen with the Fort Worth Opera Chorus in their past season with Aida and An African American Requiem. Last summer she was seen at ISOFOM as Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica. Before that, she was seen with a student-led opera at UNCG as Armelinda in Pauline Viardot's opera Cendrillon. Also at UNCG Opera Theater, as the Mom in Alejandro Rutty’s world premiere of Alison’s Voice.
She is also passionate about creating opportunities for woman-composed works to be performed. That is why she created a non-profit called Her Story. This is a benefit concert of woman-composed works that are all women performers from the DFW area, and it is a free concert that takes donations to support women's shelters in the area.
She received her MM degree in vocal performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has also completed a BM degree in Choral Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
